This 8 week course includes readings, videos, online lectures, discussions, assignments and quizzes, all aimed at introducing you to some foundational knowledge of herbalism. Through this program, you will learn the who, what, where, why and how of herbalism from a cultural perspective that respects the experience and healing knowledge of highly melanated people. Most herbal programs do not acknowledge nor include these indigenous and spiritual experiences. Therefore some are afraid of natural healing. We propose to break this stigma by teaching a different perspective. Learn how to use the herbs to help heal your family and address common ailments during a time where our very survival depends on us taking charge of our own health.
The course can be completed at your own pace. However, for the purposes of evaluation, we ask that you try to adhere to the modules. This course is a pilot, which means the first ten to enroll and complete it have the opportunity to evaluate it and be an essential part of the development of the course. Therefore, the cost of this course is $500.00. An alternate payment plan can be requested using Afterpay, or Square by contacting us to set it up for you. Payments by Square can be made over eight weeks.
There is no certification or licensing for herbalism. This program is not accredited by any governing body and cannot certify you as an herbalist. In the United States, herbalism is protected by the 1st amendment. There is the Registered Herbalist (RH) AHG designation by the American Herbalist Guild for Clinical Herbalists. However, it is not mandatory that one go through that process. This is an introductory course. Upon completion of the class you will be awarded a certificate of completion.

In addition, learn about the pharmaceutical industrial complex and how the push away from natural medicine to alllopathic began.
The Doctrine of Signatures and Plant Actions
Examine the herbs and their connection to certain body systems. Study plant primary and secondary energetics. Discover the 11 body systems (immune system, lymphatic, digestive, central nervous system, cardiovascular, respiratory, women's health, etc. and what plants interact with those systems. Discuss foraging and sustainability of plants, and discover the secret life of plants as living organisms.
Working with Plant Medicine Safely
Learn gardening 101, materia medica, plant identification, how to make teas, tinctures, salves, shampoos. Learn how to create your own home apothecary. Most importantly, learn herbal safety and contraindications. and what menstruum's to use. Learn proper dosing. You will learn a variety of herbs useful for many common ailments and women's and children's issues. Included are herbs for you to work with, get to know and research on how to use them for healing.
